Hand car wash near Dandenong

The short answer

Sparkling Hand Car Wash is a short drive east of Dandenong, at Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre on Heatherton Road. It is a walk-in hand car wash — no booking, every package priced across three vehicle sizes, open seven days — with detailing and pre-sale preparation available on the same site by appointment.

Dandenong is where a lot of cars in the south-east get bought and sold, and presentation moves the price. We are a short drive east on Heatherton Road, open seven days, with the whole price list published.

Getting a car ready to sell

Presentation is one of the few things you can change about a car before you sell it, and the cost of doing it well is usually small next to the difference it makes to what a buyer will offer. A clean engine bay, a fresh interior and paint without visible swirl all read as evidence the car was looked after. We will tell you which parts of a full detail are worth doing for a sale and which are not.

Every price published, in advance

You should be able to know what something costs before you arrive. Every wash package, every vehicle size, every add-on and every surcharge is on this site and on the board. If your car needs something extra, we tell you what it costs first and you decide.

Washed by hand, seven days

Every car here is washed by hand rather than run through a brush tunnel — including the wheels and the door shuts. No appointment is needed for a wash, and the hours are the same every day of the week including weekends.

Questions from Dandenong drivers

Where exactly is Sparkling Hand Car Wash?
Shop PS4, Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre (mezzanine carpark), 974 Heatherton Rd, Endeavour Hills VIC 3802. We are on the mezzanine carpark level of the shopping centre, on the Cnr Heatherton Rd & Matthew Flinders Ave corner. Drive up the carpark ramp rather than parking below — the bays are on the mid level, not at street level.
What are your opening hours?
Open seven days, 8.30am to 5pm. Same hours every day, including weekends.
Do I need to book, or can I just drive in?
Just drive in for a wash — we keep bays free for the walk-up queue. Detailing and ceramic work is by appointment so the car has a dedicated slot and the right amount of time.
Can I leave the car and go shopping while it is washed?
Yes — that is the whole point of being inside the centre. Hand the keys over, do your shopping, and the car is finished when you come back. Longer detailing work is booked in advance so you know exactly how long to plan for.
How long does a car wash take?
A hand wash takes roughly 20 to 60 minutes depending on the package and the size of the car. Detailing is measured in hours rather than minutes, and every service page shows its own time so you can plan around it.
Do your prices include GST?
Yes. Every price on this site and on the board is GST inclusive, and your tax invoice shows the GST component separately. There is no surprise added at the counter.
How do you work out the price for my car?
By size, and we tell you the size before anything starts. The three sizes are Hatch / Small (Yaris, i30, Corolla hatch, Mazda2, Swift), Sedan / Wagon (Camry, 3-Series, Golf, Mazda6, Commodore), SUV / 4WD (RAV4, CX-5, X5, Prado, Ranger). A large 4WD, van or seven-seater carries an oversize surcharge, and a genuinely filthy car — heavy pet hair, sand, mud, a working ute — may carry a soiling surcharge. Both are shown to you before you commit, never added at the end.
What if I am not happy with the wash?
Tell us before you drive away and we will redo it, free, on the spot. If you would still rather not have it, we refund what you paid for that service. This is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Are the extras priced, or quoted on the spot?
Every extra is priced in writing before you agree to it — the full list is on the Extras page and on the board in the bay. If your car needs something extra, we tell you what it costs first and you decide.
Do you come to me, or do I bring the car to you?
You bring the car to us. We work from fixed bays at Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre rather than from a van, which is what makes proper water, power, lighting and drying possible — and what keeps the price where it is.
Which suburbs do you serve?
The shop is in Endeavour Hills and customers drive in from across the south-east — Doveton, Hallam, Narre Warren, Dandenong, Hampton Park, Berwick, Beaconsfield, Lysterfield and Rowville. There is a page for each of the main ones with directions and the services that suit that area.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes — a voucher can be put towards any wash or detailing service. See the Gift vouchers page.
Is a hand wash actually better than an automatic car wash?
For your paint, yes. An automatic tunnel drags the same brushes or cloths across every car that came before yours, and whatever grit those brushes picked up gets carried onto your panels — which is where the fine circular scratching known as swirl marks comes from. A hand wash with clean mitts and clean water does not do that. It also reaches the places a machine physically cannot: door shuts, badges, wheel barrels, mirror housings.
What is the difference between your wash packages?
Time and what is included. Express Wash: The quick, proper hand wash. Outside only. Sparkle Wash: Express Wash plus wax and finishing touches. Complete Wash: Sparkle Wash plus the whole inside done. Deluxe Wash: Complete Wash plus hand polish and paint protection. Every package and every price is on the Wash page.
Do you wash the interior as well?
The larger wash packages include interior work, and there are interior extras — floor mat shampoo, pet hair removal, aircon sanitisation, leather clean and condition — that can be added to any wash. If the inside needs proper attention rather than a tidy-up, that is an Interior Detail rather than a wash.
How often should I wash my car in Melbourne?
Roughly every two weeks is a sensible baseline, and more often if the car lives outside under trees or does daily freeway kilometres. The things that actually damage paint are time-sensitive rather than dirt: bird droppings and tree sap etch into clear coat within days in warm weather, and brake dust bakes onto alloy wheels. Getting those off early costs a wash; leaving them costs a correction.
Can you wash a ute, van or seven-seater?
Yes. Utes and large SUVs are priced in the SUV / 4WD size, and genuinely oversize vehicles — large 4WDs, vans, seven-seaters — carry an oversize surcharge that is shown before you commit. If a vehicle is unusual enough that the standard sizes do not fit it, we look at it and quote first.
